Head of School Blog - 23/7/26
As we reach the end of another academic year, I can honestly say that we have certainly finished on a high.
This week marked our inaugural Adventure Week, providing students with a fantastic opportunity to develop their confidence, resilience and teamwork whilst creating lasting memories with their peers. It has been wonderful to see students embrace new experiences and challenge themselves in a variety of different environments.
Throughout the week, students enjoyed a wide range of exciting visits and activities, including:
Chee Dale Valley Stepping Stones
Mission Out
Rother Valley Aqua Park
Xscape
Jack Rabbits Pottery Painting
Swithens Farm
Go Karting
Every trip provided something different, whether it was developing adventurous skills, working collaboratively, expressing creativity or simply enjoying new experiences outside of the classroom. The feedback from both students and staff has been overwhelmingly positive, making Adventure Week a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the school year. We are already looking forward to building on its success in future years.
Alongside Adventure Week, we also welcomed many parents and carers into school for our Parental Engagement Days. These meetings provided an excellent opportunity to reflect on the progress students have made throughout the year, celebrate their achievements and begin planning for another successful academic year ahead. Thank you to everyone who attended; your continued support and partnership with the school plays a vital role in our students' success.
As one academic year comes to a close, we also say goodbye to a number of students who are moving on to the next stage of their education or employment. To those students, we wish you every success for the future. We hope you take with you many happy memories from your time at LS-TEN, and we look forward to hearing about your future achievements.
To all of our students returning in September, we hope you have a well-earned, restful and enjoyable summer break. We look forward to welcoming you back refreshed and ready for another exciting year of learning and opportunity.
Looking Ahead
Over the next few days, families will receive further communications regarding:
How to contact the school during the summer holidays should you need any support.
Our Summer Programme.
Our Summer Reading Challenge.
For our Year 11 students, a reminder that GCSE Results Day will take place on Thursday 20th August. We look forward to celebrating your achievements with you.
Finally, a reminder that all students return to school on Tuesday 1st September for the start of the new academic year.
As Head of School, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our students, families, staff, governors and the wider LS-TEN community for their continued support throughout another fantastic year. It has been a year filled with growth, success and many memorable moments, and I am incredibly proud of everything our students have achieved.
Enjoy a wonderful summer, stay safe, and thank you once again for making 2025–2026 such a successful year.
We look forward to welcoming you back in September for another exciting chapter at LS-TEN.
Have a fantastic summer!
Mr Hunsdale
