Head of School Blog - 17/7/26
It has been another busy and exciting week at LS-TEN as we reached the penultimate week of the academic year. The warmer weather has certainly continued, but that hasn't stopped our students from embracing every opportunity to learn, challenge themselves and enjoy a range of enrichment activities.
As part of Projects this week, our KS3 students enjoyed a visit to Thorns Park, making the most of the outdoor environment by exploring the skatepark and park facilities. It was fantastic to see students encouraging one another, trying new activities and enjoying time together outside the classroom.
A number of our KS4 students also had the opportunity to visit WellNest in Kirkstall, where they took part in a yoga session. The experience provided a chance to focus on wellbeing, relaxation and mindfulness, while also highlighting the importance of looking after both physical and mental health.
Subject Spotlight – Sport
This week saw the launch of LS-TEN's very first Sports Day, and what a fantastic event it was!
Students competed with enthusiasm, determination and excellent sportsmanship in a variety of activities, including sprint races, javelin throwing and team football matches. Despite the warm temperatures, everyone gave their best effort, encouraged one another and represented the school brilliantly.
The day wasn't just about winning—it was about teamwork, resilience, participation and celebrating success together. It was wonderful to see so many smiles throughout the day, and we look forward to making Sports Day an annual tradition at LS-TEN.
To round off another successful week, students celebrated their achievements by taking part in our End of Year Rewards Trips. Some enjoyed an action-packed day at Flamingo Land, while others travelled to Graystone Skatepark in Manchester, where they demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm and skill. These trips were a well-deserved reward for the commitment, effort and positive attitudes students have shown throughout the year.
Looking Ahead
Next week is our Adventure Week, with students taking part in a range of exciting trips and activities from Monday to Wednesday. We look forward to sharing the highlights and celebrating these experiences in next week's final Head of School Blog for the academic year.
A reminder that our Parental Engagement Days take place on Monday and Tuesday. Thank you to everyone who has booked an appointment—we look forward to meeting with you to celebrate your child's progress and achievements this year.
Finally, a reminder that Wednesday is the last day of term for students before the summer break.
