Welcome to LS-TEN Education

A small, independent school that specialises in supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Our Vision

We believe that with the right support, environment, and opportunities, every young person can make progress and achieve success.

At LS-TEN, our vision is for every young person to access the education they deserve—one that inspires them, nurtures their curiosity, and supports them to grow as individuals.

We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students feel understood, valued, and able to succeed. We work with young people who may have experienced challenges in education, supporting them to re-engage with learning in a way that is meaningful and sustainable.

Through strong relationships, a focus on wellbeing, and a personalised approach, we help students to build confidence, develop resilience, and make positive choices for their future. Our aim is that every young person leaves us feeling safe, healthy, and equipped to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Our Approach

A specialist SEMH setting
LS-TEN is a small, independent school specialising in supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We work with students aged 11–17, offering full-time, personalised placements for those with an EHCP. We also offer a small number of alternative provision placements for young people in mainstream settings who need additional support.

A safe and supportive environment
We are committed to creating a calm, inclusive space where students feel safe, understood, and able to engage in learning. We know that every young person’s experience of education is different, and we place strong emphasis on building positive, trusting relationships with both students and families.

Wellbeing and regulation at the centre
Our approach is informed by a strong understanding of wellbeing and emotional regulation backed by research based evidence. We provide access to calming spaces throughout the school, alongside opportunities for movement and sensory support when needed. This includes dedicated indoor and outdoor areas designed to help students regulate, re-focus, and re-engage in learning.

Small classes, individual approach
With class sizes of up to six, we are able to take the time to really get to know each student. This allows us to tailor learning and support around their individual needs, strengths, and interests, supporting both academic progress and personal development.

A skilled and multidisciplinary team
Our team includes experienced teachers, HLTAs, tutors, sports coaches, youth workers, and engagement staff. We also work closely with our Educational Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, and BACP-qualified Counsellor. Together with our SENDCo, Head of Teaching and Learning and Safeguarding Leaders, this ensures a consistent, informed approach to supporting every young person.

Working towards positive outcomes
We are proud of the progress our students make. By providing the right support, environment, and relationships, we help young people to build confidence, feel successful, and move towards positive and sustainable outcomes.

Our Values

Caring

We place relationships at the heart of our work. We take the time to understand each young person and create an environment where they feel safe, respected, and supported.

Accountable
We take responsibility for our actions, our decisions, and the outcomes for our students. We are reflective in our practice and committed to doing what is right.

Brave
We are willing to try new approaches, have honest conversations, and step outside of our comfort zones to support positive change for our students.

Relentlessly Positive
We focus on strengths, celebrate progress, and maintain high expectations. We believe in our students and their ability to succeed, even when things are challenging.

Resilient
We understand that progress is not always linear. We support our students—and each other—to keep going, to learn from setbacks, and to build the confidence to move forward.
